Happy Thanksgiving

First, let me wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. It doesn’t matter if you don’t celebrate the actual day until later – our family Thanksgiving isn’t until this weekend when we can all get together. It’s the spirit that counts. We are all alive and have something to be thankful for – be it our family, our health, our jobs or the satisfaction we receive in creating objects of happiness. Take a moment to identify and appreciate the people or things in life that bring you joy. I’ll bet you find more than you think.

Enough philosophizing. Let’s get to the good stuff.

I have a new article – How to Make T-shirt quilts.  If you have made one, or find the article useful, I would love to hear your comments and see your pictures.

New notion: Have you heard of the Sidewinder? This is a little machine that winds bobbins for you so you don’t have to. If you have ever been happily sewing along when suddenly your bobbin runs out and you don’t have any more, you will sing the praises of this machine. It will let you fill a bobbin away from your sewing area so you can keep right on sewing.

Another in-person only event is our Food for Fats Friday. Bring a can, box or bottle of non perishable food to our shop at 169 Main St, Esperance NY on Friday or Saturday and get a free fat quarter for each item you bring in! There is no limit, so be generous.

What can you do with a Fat Quarter? You can make:

99 – 2″ squares
56 – 2 1/2″ squares
42 – 3″ squares

20 – 4″ squares
16 – 4 1/2″ squares
