Con Kerr Cancer

ConKerr Cancer: A Case for Smiles  provides fun, whimsical pillowcases to
brighten up the day and put a smile on the face of children in the Oncology
Unit. ConKerr Cancer started when Cindy Kerr’s son was diagnosed with cancer in 2002 and she began making pillowcases to brighten up his hospital room and to put a smile on his face. He loved it and so she began making pillowcases for other children.

Since then the pillowcase project, A Case for Smiles, has grown in amazing ways. Hundreds of thousands of pillowcases have been provided to sick children from across North America and in South Africa. School groups, sewing circles, religious groups and fabric stores have all pitched in
and are making pillowcases for the kids. For more information, visit their
website at http://www.conkerrcancer.org

You don’t have to buy a kit to donate a pillowcase! Make as many as you like
– it’s a great stash buster.  There is a free pattern at http://quiltbug.com/free/free.htm
