Bean There – a Summer Sew-along with a Fall theme

Summer is a time for travel, isn’t it? Looking around, finding new places to visit. Here is a quilt made with the Corn and Beans block, hence the name

Bean There!

Bean There Quilt

This is a sew-along project designed to show you little tricks for easy quilt construction. Since you are likely to finish it by fall, I am using autumn themed fabrics. Most of these are Connecting Threads Sale fabrics.

Here are my choices:

I will be using the Cat’s Cradle ruler to make the center of the block, but if you don’t have one, don’t worry.  I will give alternatives.  Here is a tutorial.

We will start May 10, so you can sew all Mothers Day if you like:-))

Shhh! Don’t tell anyone!

If you would like to start early, here are the 2-1/2″ unfinished HSTs that you will need:

  • (40) Green/Background HSTs ,
  • (16) Red/Background HSTs, and
  • (24) Orange/Background HSTs.

If you are using the Magic Eight method of making HSTs, you will need:

  • Background: (10) 6″ squares
  • Green: (5) 6″ squares
  • Red: (2) 6″ squares
  • Orange: (3) 6″ squares
