But please look at them all just in case you like one of those methods better. This is YOUR quilt, you should be doing things YOUR way. If you have never used this method before, make a test block first. Resist the temptation to round up the small blocks to 3″. It won’t work. But your test block may indicate that a scant 1/4″ seam works better for you. If you are using the [Lazy Girl No Math Ruler](https://amzn.to/4l7BlXs), the size we are making is size “F”. Place the two small White squares on opposite edges of the large Green square, right sides together. Draw a diagonal line through the squares, then sew 1/4″ away from both sides of the line. Make (24) of these units. Place another small square face down on the heart with the point overlapping the middle. Draw a line on the diagonal and sew 1/4″ on either side of the diagonal. ![Green-No-Math Flying Geese Layout - the heart](https://scrapdash.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/green-heart-400x311.jpg) Cut these apart, pressing to the heart again, and you have four flying geese units that should require no trimming except to cut off the dog ears. Make (48) Flying Geese blocks with Green in the middle. That’s it for this week!
