Tea and Crumpets Memorial Day Mystery – Making More Corner Blocks

This block will help you make a secondary design. Pretty soon you will be able to see the sparks!
Assemble:
- (12) 6-1/2″ background squares
- (12) 2-1/2″ blue squares
Place a 2-1/2″ blue square right sides together in one corner of a background square so that the pencil line connects the two sides as shown to the left. Stitch on the pencil line. Make (12).
Flip the small square over the seam and press to the corner (above right.) The edges should match. Trim the excess on the underside, leaving a 1/4″ seam allowance.
Assemble:

- (12) 2-1/2″ purple squares
Place a 2-1/2″ purple square right sides together in one corner of a background square so that the pencil line connects the two sides as shown to the left. Stitch on the pencil line. Make (12).
