My Pattern in the Autumn Haunts Bundle

I have shown you the full Autumn Haunts Quilt Pattern Bundle, but today I want to show you to the pattern I contributed to the collection. You saw a sneak preview yesterday, but here it is in all it’s glory. I was challenged to write this pattern by a subscriber who wanted a “typical” quilt for a mystery. She specified either a Log Cabin or a Bargello, so I made both!

A colorful quilt features a geometric pattern in green, orange, purple, and black, with a border in purple and yellow. The design includes zigzag and triangular shapes forming a symmetrical, eye-catching motif.

My Log Cabin Bargello design combines two familiar quilting ideas in one striking project. The Log Cabin has been a quilter’s favorite for generations, while the Bargello-style arrangement gives the design a sense of movement. Put them together in glowing autumn colors and the blocks seem to flicker across the quilt like leaves in a brisk October breeze.

The pattern does not have to retire when Halloween is over. Sew it in rust, gold, brown, and deep green for a traditional fall look. Choose orange, purple, lime, and black to turn up the Halloween mischief. Or ignore the calendar entirely and make it from colors that suit your own home. A good quilt pattern does not mind changing clothes. And there is a mystery in the way it is put together. This is not your typical Log Cabin Bargello quilt.
