Just back from a terrific Quiltbus trip

We are just back from a QuiltBus trip. I really enjoy meeting all the different people. The quilters in Winchendon put up a fun sign for us so we wouldn’t miss the church we were going to, but we missed it anyway. When we turned around to go back, all these ladies were jumping up and own in the road, waving their arms and making SURE we didn’t go past them again:-)) I taught the No Whining class, which has got to be my most fun class.

The next day we made the nine hour drive to Maryland in twelve hours. It just seemed to go on forever! But it was worth it. Maryland is a really nice state. I learned that “Beauchamp” is pronounced “Beecham” and “Newark DE” is pronounced “New-Ark” I was a little surprised to see how strong the southern spirit is in Maryland. I believe Maryland sent just as many troops to the North as to the South during the Civil War (AKA The War Between the States AKA The War of Northern Aggression.) I wonder when they decided they were “south”? Pennsylvania borders Maryland on the East, and PA was strongly Union.

The next day we drove to the other side of Maryland which is very rural. We had a hard time finding a hotel room because it was the opening day of breech muzzle loading season. Who knew? But the weather was glorious and we had a grand time as always. Then off to a show in Pennsylvania, where we were invited to their awards dinner. I thought that was a grand idea – they handed out ribbons in an award ceremony at a dress up dinner. Very classy.

Home again on Sunday. Hard to believe we were walking the boardwalk in Ocean City MD a week ago today as I look out the window and watch the snow gently falling.
