The Wonderful World of Color

This month’s blog hop theme is a colorful array of bloggers, who have been working away getting ready to share their “Colors” with us all. I couldn’t help but remember a quilt I designed called Color Me Creative that was chosen as a local shop hop quilt in 2010. Each shop chose a color and made the quilt in their chosen color. The choice of color made a huge difference in the appearance of the quilt!

My sample is on the right, below. The shop quilt featured the color black. It is on the left. Take a look at the quilts below and notice how the color choice makes a difference in the quilt.

  1. What a beautiful design. I loved seeing it made up in so many different colorways too. Sound like a fun BOM to participate in too!

  2. Color can certainly change things up. I can see this beauty in a number of other colors too. Great post, thanks for sharing all those awesome quilts.

  3. I love to see the same quilt done by different quilters in different colors.
For some reason I see more details when viewed in different color perspective.
Even when 2 or 3 people make the same quilt in say green…
The greens that each one uses shows me so much difference in each quilt

  4. I love seeing the same quilt done in different ways. I’ve made my own patterns several times when testing them and it really does make a huge difference. Thanks for sharing!

  5. That is one big scrap quilt! I love it in all its versions. I will try to keep up with BOM, it looks like another great scrapbuster is coming my way.

  6. It’s always fun to see a quilt in different color versions!
BTw I had a hard time finding your comment area FYI….

  7. It never ceases to amaze me how different a quilt can look by just changing the colors. They are all so beautiful! I love how much brighter yours is compared to the black, though it is pretty, too. Thank you for sharing all of them.

  8. Color sure makes a statement and it’s wonderful to see what it creates in your pattern.

  9. I am always fascinated by how different fabric choices make for a totally different look in a quilt!! I LOVED looking at all of the different quilts that were made. Lovely! Thanks for sharing them all!

  10. Lovely quilts. It’s always so nice to get to see things in different colours/options, especially in actual fabric. We can colour things on paper or the computer as much as we want, it still doesn’t give a full sense of what it will actually look like.

  11. I think that what you have shown is what I really love about quilting. You can make the same project look totally different with a variation in color. Perfect examples and so many beautiful ones.

  12. This is such a wonderful demo of how color can make such a difference in a quilt. Usually you only get 2 or 3 examples which is great but your post is over the top. Thanks so much.

  13. What a cool idea! Choosing colors is always a challenge for me and I’m amazed at how different and beautiful each one is!
