Castle Secrets Block of the Week Quilt Mystery Clue Nine

This is a Quilt-Block-of-the-Month Mystery series. It starts today! Clues will be presented every Sunday from 6/4/23 until Labor Day. It is a two color (plus background) quilt that finishes about 90″ x 90″. Look for a list of clues at the bottom of this page. Finishing the Forts’ Turrets

Assemble:

  • Cut (7) Chocolate Brown strips 5-3/8″ wide by the width of fabric. From those strips, cut (48) 5-3/8″ squares
  • Cut (3) Pink strips 5-3/8″ wide by the width of fabric. From those strips, cut (16) 5-3/8″ squares
  • (32) second SNS units you made in Clue Seven

One last time…

Cut (2) 5-3/8″ Chocolate Brown squares on the diagonal to make (4) triangles.
Cut (1) 5-3/8″ Chocolate Brown squares on the diagonal to make (2) triangles.

Sew a pink triangle to the pink side of the SNS unit you made in Clue Seven. Sew a Chocolate Brown triangle to the other side. Press toward the triangle.

Sew a Chocolate Brown triangle to the other two sides of the square, making a 9-1/2″ square-in-a-square block as shown. Press toward the triangle corners. If all has gone well, continue making these SNS blocks. Make (32) SNS blocks and press. Square up if necessary.
