This is a 72″ x 88″ quilt with two narrow borders. If you would like to make it smaller, just make fewer blocks. If you would like to make it larger, just add borders. Easy peasy.

Pretty In Paisley Block

Assemble

  • (40) Nine-Patch Blocks #1 (from Clue 2)
  • (40) Nine-Patch Blocks #2 (from Clue 2)
  • (80) Sashing Units (from Clue 3)
  • (20) 4-1/2″ Dark Blue Ditsy squares

This block is made in three rows using the blocks you just made. Make (40) rows like the one below, matching the Nine-Patch Block # 2 orientation as shown. These are row 1, and row 3. Press the block seams toward the Nine-Patch block. These rows will measure 6-1/2 × 16-1/2″.

Make (20) rows like the one below. This is the center row. Press the block seams toward the center. These rows will measure 4-1/2 × 16-1/2″.

Reversing the direction of the bottom row, sew the three rows into a block. Double check the placement of the Nine-Patches. The Taupe Pin Drop fabric in Block #2 should be in the upper left hand corner and the lower right hand corner.

Press the row seams open. This block will measure 16-1/2″ square.
